From the Academy Award® nominated team of director Pete Docter ("Monsters, Inc.") and co-director Bob Peterson comes "Up," a comedic adventure taking off (and lifting spirits) in summer 2009. Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him a new lease on life. "Up" takes audiences on a thrilling journey where the unlikely pair encounter wild terrain, unexpected villains and jungle creatures. When seeking adventure next summer — look "Up."
What happens when the last remaining male and female blue-footed newts on the planet are forced together by science to save the species, and they can’t stand each other? That’s the problem facing Newt and Brooke, heroes of "newt," the Pixar film by seven-time Academy Award® winner for sound Gary Rydstrom, and director of Pixar’s Oscar-nominated short, "Lifted." Newt and Brooke embark on a perilous, unpredictable adventure and discover that finding a mate never goes as planned, even when you only have one choice. Love, it turns out, is not a science.
A rugged and mythic Scotland is the setting for Pixar’s action-adventure "The Bear and the Bow." The impetuous, tangle-haired Merida, though a daughter of royalty, would prefer to make her mark as a great archer. A clash of wills with her mother compels Merida to make a reckless choice, which unleashes unintended peril on her father’s kingdom and her mother’s life. Merida struggles with the unpredictable forces of nature, magic and a dark, ancient curse to set things right. Director Brenda Chapman ("The Prince of Egypt," "The Lion King") and the storytelling wizards of Pixar conjure humor, fantasy and excitement in this rich Highland tale. It’s voice talent is as follows: Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson.

Cars 2 coming in 2011?
WALL*E-WONKA (an insider for AICN) has sent AICN a few details about what Disney has coming up in a few years. One of those details stated that Cars 2 is being eyed a 2011 release slot, something I have said before. I think there have been to much infomation that says there will be a Cars 2 to say there won't one, don't you? We'll just have to wait and see.Labels: Cars 2

Another Hint That Cars 2 Is In The Works!
The swench blog points out that a comment left on the Jungle Book Documentary (and some musings on pacing in animated film) post on the Temple of the Seven Golden Camels blog by a Pixar story artist who says:
So there’s another hint that a Cars 2 is in the works at Pixar!

Cars 2 to be released after TS3!
So Pixar is going to put out 2 sequels in a row. Pixar always likes a good challenge.
One question I have is that Paul Newman has retried, In the rumor about a Cars 2 in early June of this year Paul Newman said that Pixar was making a Cars 2, so how would he know about a Cars 2 unless someone has told him or he has singed up for it, or maybe he’s already done some voice work, but I doubt it.
I expect Cars 2 to be Pixar’s 2011 release and John Carter of Mars to be Pixar 2012 release, but remember that is just my opinion.
Any comments? I'm sure you have one.

Cars 2? and NEW Cars short film?
This story first appeared when Al Lutz, operator of Miceage mentioned that Cars 2 will be Pixar's 2009 release. He also mentioned that a new Cars short film was to be released for 2008(if true it will probably be shown in front of WALL- E). A member of Pixar Planet says:
"I am not here to stand up for miceage.com or Al Lutz, but I will say I have been reading his articles for years now and he has a pretty good track record.
I am not entirely sure that this rumor is true but knowing how much of a fan Al Lutz is for 'Cars' I would not be surprised.
This is what the blurb actually said:
Quote:
5/30: "Here's an interesting tidbit heard at the Indy 500 from Paul Newman himself: Did you know a new Cars short will debut Summer 2008? And that Cars 2 is set for a 2009 release? This first popped up on CarsTheToys.com and checked out from my end. - Al Lutz"
I have different sources that tell me that Al Lutz is pretty reliable.
One of the things that gets me, is that Pixar has never attempted two squeals in a row, but there's a first time for everything.
So will Cars 2 come out in 2009? or will it even come out? That's the question. What about the Cars short that they’re also talking about. If this is true, I wonder who John Lasseter has gotten to direct Cars 2 since he's going be very busy in the next few years.
